Beauty Spire (“Beauty Spire,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website https://beautyspire.me. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, read our articles, leave a comment, use the Face Shape Analyzer, or click affiliate links, and how that information is used.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and WordPress record basic technical information that your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, referring page, and the date and time of the request. This information is used to deliver and secure the site, prevent abuse, and fix technical problems. We may also use Google Search Console, which reports aggregated search performance data to us and does not identify individual readers.
Information you give us
- Email: if you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name, email address, website (optional), comment text, your IP address, and browser user agent to help with spam detection. Your email address is not published. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use a Gravatar profile picture.
- Newsletter: if a newsletter sign-up form is offered and you choose to subscribe, your email address is stored by our email service so we can send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Beauty Spire uses a limited number of cookies:
- WordPress may set cookies when you leave a comment (to remember your name and email for next time, if you opt in) and for logged-in site administrators.
- Caching and performance tools may set technical cookies needed for the site to work properly.
- When you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may set its own cookies to record that the visit came from Beauty Spire (see below).
Beauty Spire does not currently run display advertising. If we add advertising or analytics services in the future, we will update this policy first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as intended if you do.
Amazon Associates and affiliate links
Beauty Spire is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, Beauty Spire earns from qualifying purchases. When you click an Amazon link on our site, you leave Beauty Spire and go to Amazon, which may use cookies and similar technologies to attribute your purchase to our referral. We do not receive your name, address, payment details, or what you personally bought. Amazon’s handling of your data is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice.
Face Shape Analyzer and your photos
The Face Shape Analyzer runs in your browser. When you upload a photo or use your camera, face landmark detection and skin-tone sampling happen locally on your device. Your photo is not uploaded to our server, is not stored by us, and is not used for any other purpose. To run the analysis, your browser downloads the open-source MediaPipe face-detection library from the jsDelivr content delivery network; the library processes the image on your device.
The tool also offers an optional “personalized routine” button. Only if you click it, the tool sends three text labels (your estimated face shape, undertone, and skin-depth category) through our server to an AI text service to write a short routine. Your photo is never sent. As with any web request, our server may log basic technical data such as your IP address, for example to apply daily usage limits and prevent abuse. If you do not click the button, nothing from the analysis leaves your device.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content or resources from other websites, such as fonts (for example Google Fonts), scripts, images, or videos. Embedded content behaves the same way as if you had visited the other website directly: those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
Third-party links
Our articles link to other websites, including retailers. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites. Please review their privacy policies.
How long we keep information
Comments and their metadata are kept as long as the comment remains on the site. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and technical purposes.
Children’s privacy
Beauty Spire is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. If you have left a comment, you can ask us to export or erase the data associated with it. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
